Pickard Construction custom home building company serving Central Vancouver Island. From custom homes to additions, renovations, agricultural projects and light commercial, Pickard Construction has been "building" the community for over 35 years. Charlie and Sheila Pickard, along with their crew, work to make each construction project as an enjoyable and stress free of an experience as possible.
Charlie began his carpentry career at the age of 16 when he was tasked with building the first shelter for the Errington Farmer's Market. His love for construction shows in the many homes and projects throughout Central Vancouver Island. Problem solving skills, a strong work ethic and being able to visualize the finished project are all qualities that serve Charlie in helping his clients. Being a low volume builder allows personal involvement in each project. Nurturing relationships with clients is an important piece in working collaboratively. Charlie believes in supporting our communities by dealing locally and has developed great working relationships with quality subcontractors and suppliers in the area.
Sheila has been part of Pickard Construction from the beginning. Sheila provides office support (all that paperwork that sustains a business and helps it run smoothly), is a general go- for when needed, and is not afraid to take on new challenges like managing the company's website.
Gary has been working in construction since he finished high school. Gary was born and raised on Vancouver Island and has worked for Pickard Construction for many years. Gary takes on many of Pickard Construction's creative wood projects, as well as millworking and general carpentry duties.
Pickard Construction also employs two crews of carpenters and labourers and a couple of extra ladies in the office. Many of these employees, past and present, are family members and friends.
